MARY FENNEL
Mary Fennel is an abstract artist with a deep attentiveness to the natural world. Working in abstraction, she builds richly textured surfaces that carry the weight and warmth of nature.
Some works are embedded with dried flowers, dirt, and other organic materials, where nature becomes both subject and medium. Others rely on texture and color alone to evoke the calm, grounded, and balanced feeling we get from being in nature. Mary’s intention is to distill something essential from the natural world and bring it indoors, where it can offer the same restoration that a walk in the woods or a moment in the garden can.
She currently resides in the hills of Northwest Arkansas, working from a home studio nestled in the country — close to the woods, fields, and quiet that find their way into everything she makes.
